Evon Smith

United Way Greater Toronto is a great place to work. It’s a pleasure to work for an organization that continuously innovates to make a difference in our communities.

Evon Smith, Manager, FOCUS Toronto

Deb DeCruze

How lucky am I to be blessed with two families. One that raised me to understand, help and support the ‘human’ aspects of life, issues faced and the deeper unspoken struggles. And my second family, United Way! Our platforms are the same; fulfilling the innate desire to make a difference in someone else’s life.

Deb DeCruze, Office Assistant, Facilities/Office Services

United Way’s commitment to our employees:

Reconciliation, Equity, Anti-Racism, Diversity & Inclusion

We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that reflects the diverse community we serve. We embrace different abilities, perspectives and lived experiences, and we promote equity—welcoming, celebrating and valuing the contributions of all. Read our internal 2020 Diversity and Inclusion Progress Report for more information. In September 2020, we also endorsed a commitment to make explicit our commitment to reconciliation and equity as integral to advancing our mission.

The READI Committee

The Reconciliation, Equity, Anti-Racism, Diversity & Inclusion Committee is a cross-functional group of employee volunteers representing teams, levels, and diversity of the organization. We are a committee of members working together and accountable to the VP, People & Culture, to augment ongoing work of the People & Culture team to build an equitable workplace culture. Membership of the committee is made up of at least 15 individuals from across teams, levels, geographic representation and social identity demographics.
